Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer (ChatGPT), a natural language processing (NLP) model developed by OpenAI, is an AI-powered virtual assistant that has taken the internet by storm. Generative AI (a system that can create new information from the data it has learned) appears human-like in its ability to answer questions in the same way as a regular conversation.
Although ChatGPT has some well-deserved praise for its quality of responses, ability to handle a wide variety of subjects, and conversational style, it is merely an example of a good quality, generative AI model.
The outputs these models produce may sound convincing by design; however, the responses they generate signals new productivity potential in the digital workplace can be wrong or biased.
